Tuesday 25 March 2008 10:44 Communities and Local Government (National) Zero tolerance approach to Commercial Vandalism LOCAL GOVERNMENT MINISTER JOHN HEALEY has announced a no nonsense approach to enforcing changes to empty property reliefs coming into force on 1 April. He today set out tough measures that councils already have to tackle potential moves by owners to try and avoid liability, and gave a zero tolerance pledge to intervene with further measures if evidence suggests deliberate dereliction of properties is taking place. www.gnn.gov.uk/Content/Detail.asp?ReleaseID=362400&NewsAreaID=2

Good move and may sort out some absent landlords.......if the laws are enforced. Empty properties should be taken away from the landlords and given to the community and not taken on by the council though.
