Same experience here. Could do the inside, but doing up the outside was met with a straight NO. After done some research I found out that regeneration means keeping it so ugly as possible, so that the regeneration can find an proper reason to bulldoze all. It is will full obstruction. They even obstructed an concerted EU/charity founding. The straight line was, NO roads will be done, no Home update will be allowed. The Charity/EU withdraw for an other project. If all would be looking good, than out of the windows goes the regenerations excuse as poverty, poor health and no work. So just bear it in mind, no millions as promised, there was never a real option of money. They want your land cheap, your life destroyed, and new homes for them selves, the airfield enlarged a new harbor and a new pier. No place for the old the disabled and the poor. NOT in TORY land.

I'm looking at buying a property in Jaywick and read the above comments....there is a dangerous looking lean-to at the back of the property and I was intending to demolish it. Does anyone know if I need to get permission for this from the Council? Surely if something is a hazard then it can only be a good thing to clear it and have a safe courtyard? Next door's shed is causing havoc with the fencing so I was going to sort that out too....according to the deeds I am obliged to keep my fences in order, surely the Council won't object to that sort of improvement? On the bright side, if I'm not allowed to clear the brambles then it's blackberry pie all round this summer All comments gratefully received! Sylvia

Pop around to the neighbourhood management in the Enterprise centre Lotus way. Perhaps someone there can put you in the right direction to ask. I article 4 here has changed recently but to enable who to do what I can't remember.

If you go to www.jaywick.net and click on the property link you'll find a list of properties for sale and rent. If you click on the link at the top of the for sale section you'll be redirected to nestoria.co.uk and should be able to find all the local estate agents listings for the area. Most of the Clacton agents also have Jaywick properties available.

Hi everyone! I have just moved into Jaywick in the beginning of March. And i have to say i love it. Moved on a bit of a whim, inheritence + nasty ex boyfriend = run away to the seaside! My bungalow is in not too bad of a state but will be doing a lot of improvements. Bit concerned about some of these comments, are any of you in Brooklands? Or Tudor? Daisy --- I found my house through Omega Property services in clacton, very nice company too.

I found my property through Spicer McColl, they had several on their books when I was looking. I'm in Brooklands, close to the beach, sheer bliss!
I love it over here, looking forward to actually getting my keys and making some improvements....as well as making friends! This is a great forum for advice, I'll be visiting the Enterprise Centre for some help from the neighbourhood management team....thanks for the advice Jacky ;-)
