Jaywick Community News will be distributed to each household at the beginning of March. The winter 2010 edition reviews community development work currently underway, such as the new garden in the centre of Brooklands, explains future plans for the area and gives a personal introduction to the dedicated local neighbourhood team.
Councillor Peter Martin, Leader of Essex County Council comments: “We are committed to the creation of a better neighbourhood in Jaywick and recognise the importance of keeping the local community informed and involved. The newsletter is a great way of keeping local residents abreast of developments and how they too, can contribute to a beneficial legacy for the younger members of the community.”
Councillor Neil Stock, Executive Leader of Tendring District Council, said that communication with the residents of Jaywick is vital to the whole process if it is to succeed.
“It is very important that we keep in touch with them every step of the way so they are aware of what is going on and have the chance to get involved and play their part in whatever projects come forward,” he said.
“This new initiative of a newsletter is the ideal way of us making contact - and we hope the residents will respond by coming back to us with their views.”
Residents who do not receive a copy of the newsletter are encouraged to visit the neighbourhood team in Lotus Way, Jaywick. The newsletter will be issued quarterly throughout the forthcoming year.
