My name is Rosa, I'm a masters student doing a documentary research project about Jaywick, it's history, current situation, the art, people who live there and love it! I'm planning to do my project in the style of the Spirit of Jaywick exhibition, an arty, fun and thoughtful story of Jaywick. I'm not planning to make it into a film, but just a research project for now (maybe one day if I can raise the cash!) And I'd love to feature your opinions on Jaywick, since you clearly really care about the town. My mother in law lives in the town and it's such an interesting, funny, sad and uniquely British story that I'm surprised to see no one else has done a documentary style film about the place before (aside from the new John Prescott film). As I say, it's just my Master's project and I'm not on screen interviewing people, just writing up interviews for my project.
I'd love to have a chat with you, my email is rozi53@hotmail.com or pretty.lettuce@gmail.com and my mobile is 07947 775505.
Thank you in advance
Rosa

Can someone please help. I viewed a property in Lotus Way, Jaywick. I live in London & knew noyhing of this area. I was so exighted to be moving out of London. However I have since heard differing opinions of the area. I will be living alone & as a 56 year old woman I need to feel safe. So what I am asking of you members is just that. Will I be at risk of danger ie, being mugged, accosted or burgled. I am a strong independant person but just a woman. Please help me make a final decision. Thankyou.

Why not check out the crime maps: www.police.ukCrime is relatively low in Jaywick, with perhaps a slightly higher level of anti-social behaviour. Most residents feel quite safe. Lotus Way is a nice area, with the community warden's office and neighbourhood police station on the same road. Welcome to the area!
