There i was, talking in the sunshine today, when we got round to talking about our "failed" Landmark pier project.
Can anyone remember that pie in the sky thing that was supposed to stick out from our beach and seawall...lol.
Then we remembered that of course it would not go ahead, it would cost £ millions.
We said, who would spend £millions on our dear old Jaywick,
anyway, if someone mad enough wanted to do so, just where would it be spent, and where would it go, on what, and for what reason would it be done.
Our little discussion group thought that to have new piers, or a future marina, that stood just of our beach, the first thing you would need is a new rock wall and or, lots of sand put back into our depleated beaches for it all to work...
Just who would spend £ millions over 3 - 4 months just to make our beach look pretty, for we all know that "IF" it flooded, like in 1953, the flood waters burst through from St. Osyth`s reaches, and they have not improved much for years and years, not even sure they have lots of air raid type flood warning sirens like ours.
We spoke about how little St.Osyth has in the way of beaches and flood defence walls and the like.
We also spoke of just how many small bungalows in the seas edge areas St. Osyth were so much like ours in Brooklands, but there was no rush or fuss about flood prevention over that way, unlike ours in Brooklands.
We sat in the sun in silence as we sat thinking for an answer..
Then like a bolt out of the blue.............................................
I wonder if we are getting a new marina soon, or one soon after the "regeneration has begun" in Brooklands....
We sat thinking, just who would spend £ millions before "regeneration" had begun, on our beaches, just offshore in Brooklands..........
