The Jaywick Forum will be having two open meetings where anyone who wants to ask questions to different groups can do so.
Mick Masterson will be on hand to answer questionson the possibility of Jaywick flooding.
The first meeting being in our resource center 30th July from 11-30 am to 2.30 pm.
It has been advised that Interacts John Milligan has informed the forum that the Environmental Agency will be making the study public knowledge by putting the flood study on their website. A contact telephone number will also be issued to allow any residents with questions to ask the agency direct.
Although there is no regeneration for Jaywick in the immediate future, A PLAN IS BEING STUDIED. This will take a long time as it is imperative that all angles and problems are covered correctly..
The problem of the condition of Brooklands, Grasslands and the village roads is being looked at by Essex County Council. Mick Masterson has had a meeting with officers at the council about the road conditions in Brooklands and Grasslands areas. It was discused that the roads could be cheaply repaired by just patching up potholes with Tarmac.
The next follow on meeting of the Jaywick Forum is on 6th August at Golf Green Hall from 11-30am till 2-30pm..

Sorry for sounding negative but these are both during the day when people are at work J, no need to sound negative, 1) its true.! 2) its never changes, 3) i never got much if anything out of it (as usuall) 4)the only time i wanted to read any negative hype about the proposed Jaywick Parish Council, the only piece of paper on the desk was snatched out my hand, so what was the point of the representative from both the forum & the J,& T. R. Ass. being there with it. If it was a true forum, ={ for`um- [noun] -place or medium, for meeting, assembly for open discusion or debate}, it would be open for all. Your very good point about not being to be able to make it seems very valid not only for you J, but many others. The new white paper out for communities is called community empowerment. How can any secret meeting agenda group that takes upon it self to self seek to make rules, regulations or life changing decisions be expected to be accepted in this modern age of our new found community empowerment. Personaly, i will NOT have any local group making decisions, making them decisions for either myself, my family, or my community, without me or my community being there to help and decied on how them decisions are being made, if it affects me, my family or my community. It was called democracy then, its called democracy now, and with common sense its called community led parish council led decisions in our future. A parish council HAS meetings out in the open, to change, charge or recieve, what its community residents belives it needs for itself, and its imediate surounding residents, or, we say what we need, want or plan to do, we (the residents) CAN decied, and not just be told of decisions and events months down the line when its been decieded for us by secret meetings by people who know very little of Brooklands / Grasslands and Village areas problems / needs / asperations.. I`m sorry, but the odd one or two representatives from part of OUR Jaywick does not constitute a democratic true voice in the meeting place whever it meets, UNLESS its open and transparent to ALL.. What say you.
