"The council realise the difficaulties which are facing Jaywick at the moment. You may have had cause for complaint in the past that the council has not taken as much interest in the affairs of Jaywick as it should have done. The Clacton council is today very Jaywick concious and although it cannot do as much as it would like to do for Jaywick - a point of view you will understand because of everything being subject to ministerial approval - steps have been taken in order that Jaywick may eventually be incorporated into Clacton. Time may therefore come when you will enjoy all the advatages from incorporation with Clacton.

OK, when you read the above post, just what does in convey to you, its reader....
Do you think that the message is sincear, honest and fair...
Is it fair then to say that if you listened to that speech, you would have thought that at last, all the things that Jaywick wanted and even, needed, would come to fruition....
So would the residents who listened to that speech in the "new" sea wall opening speech on 20th December.................
OH, i forgot, it was December 1950............58 years ago....................
...............WE ARE STILL WAITING "CLACTON" COUNCIL................................

I have old documentation going back to the very start of Jaywicks being...old and interesting..
It goes on about the sale of the Farm House for £22,000, which left £19,000 which was invested by a Mr "C" who was the then financial secretary, this was decieded to be the best way of insuring an income to the association, other wise it would be spent, it would be gone for ever............
I wonder what ever happened to that money invested, and just where it went, or was it gone for ever....
This document goes on to say.. The Directors of the Company are merely custodians and caretakers of your land.."they do not own it- you do"
In further Documents are some amusing items..such as..
JUSTICE FOR JAYWICK
It had been anticipated that following the public inquiry the Ministers decision would have been recieved during the latter part of 1973, but owing to the complexity of the case the inspector was unable to present his recommendations to the Minister until August of that year...
So its still the same really, 34 years later...
On the 30th April, 1974 the Secretary of State for the Environment gave his decision: he refused to confirm the Compulsary purchase orders, and the 3 year fight against attempted injustice had been won. it goes on : for over 40 years the Association had been trying without success to get the council to co-operate, and now after a three year fight to destroy us had been thwarted..
Another fine piece of editorial was...
"FORMER COUNCIL SLATED OVER JAYWICK ENQUIRY".. this was in the 10th May edition of our old East Essex Gazette.
It goes further to say, in 1978 Mr Carroll resigned as Chairman, he was made President in appreciation for all his hard work and dedication he gave to see the "Justice for Jaywick" had yet again been achievied against all odds....
++++++++++ JUSTICE FOR JAYWICK +++++++++++++
What a still brillient headline that is with our current limp lot in EEDA/GO-East/J A G..etc......Oh not forgetting the current headline lies of £1 million for Jaywick...
